More about the Grey Patio Doors Collection

A neutral and easy to style colour, grey has been gaining popularity in UK homes over recent years.

We have a range of patio doors in grey for sale so you can make your property look its best. From a french door set in anthracite grey to a grey outside and white inside bifold, there's so much choice available.

Designs and Styles: French, Bifold & Sliding Doors

Whether you're looking for grey French, bifold or sliding doors, we can help. Each door style has its own benefits, so you can choose the right one to suit your home. Choosing sliding patio doors will give you maximum light due to 2 large double glazed panes of glass, but bifold and french patio doors will open fully to let the maximum amount of fresh air into your home. If space is an issue in your home, sliding patio doors might be an ideal choice. Unlike hinged doors, a sliding patio door doesn't require swing space, making them ideal for areas with limited space.

Materials: Aluminium and uPVC

Both double glazed aluminium and uPVC patio doors with grey frames are available to purchase online.

Aluminium frames in grey allow for the maximum glass surface area because the material is so strong. They're attractive, durable and low-maintenance too. With an aluminium door, you'll notice the lightweight operation and really strong feel.

If you're looking for a cost-effective option, grey uPVC french doors offer great value for money. They won't swell, rust or warp which gives you a robust and long lasting door.

Energy Efficiency and Security

You can expect a high thermal performance from all our products. With argon filled double glazing, thermally broken aluminium and low u-values, we'll help you to keep your home warm.

You'll also find patio doors that come with trickle vents for part F compliance of the uk building regulations.

With toughened low e glass and multi-point locking mechanisms, you can be sure you're getting a high security door system whatever style you choose.

Dimensions and Sizes

Our range of standard sizes are designed to fit in common brickwork opening dimensions. Check the frame size options to find the right fit. You can measure the frame height and width yourself to get the door you need. Make sure you take 3 width and 3 height measurements, taking the largest one to check against each door's frame size.

We can also offer made to measure options if you need something bespoke. Please get in touch with our team on to discuss your requirements.

Installation

We'll provide installation instructions to make the process quick and simple for your chosen tradesperson. Most of our products are hung and tested in the factory for a speedy fit solution.

Due to the weight, many of our products are supplied with loose glass ready to install on site.

Grey Vs Black or White

In comparison with white and black, grey is a relative newcomer for door frames. However, it's popularity has risen fast. Of course, it's a happy balance between white and black. Whilst grey frames don't give the impact that black ones do, they draw the eye in a softer way. They're not light and fresh like white frames but they don't make your room feel dark. Grey has many benefits which have made it more and more popular as sliding doors in UK homes.

Questions about Grey Patio Doors

What colour is best for patio doors?

Your patio door colour is a matter of personal taste. Choose something that suits your exterior, internal décor and most importantly something that you love.

Should patio doors be lighter or darker?

Lighter frames can be less obtrusive, making a space feel light and bright. Darker ones can provide contrast, helping to draw the eye through a room or highlight a view.

Are grey french and bifold doors popular?

Grey is still very popular, and is one of our top sellers. It's softer than black but more impactful than white, making grey door frames a great middle ground for a stylish home. Sliding patio doors in grey are also some of our best selling patio doors.

What is a u value?

A U-value, sometimes referred to as thermal transmittance, measures how effective a building material is as an insulator. Specifically, it gauges the rate of heat transfer through a material. The U-value is expressed in Watts per square meter Kelvin (W/m²K). A lower value indicates a material being energy efficient with better insulating properties.

What are the benefits of sliding doors?

Sliding patio doors offer several advantages that make them a preferred choice for many homes and commercial spaces. Here are some of the benefits of sliding doors:

  • Space Efficiency: Since sliding doors glide horizontally without swinging open, they don't require any additional space to operate. This makes them ideal for rooms with limited space or where furniture placement is a concern.
  • Seamless Integration: A sliding patio door provides a smooth transition between indoor and outdoor areas, making spaces feel more interconnected and expansive.
  • Enhanced Natural Light: Their large glass panels allow for an influx of natural light, illuminating interiors and reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day.
  • Unobstructed Views: They offer wide, uninterrupted views of the outdoors, which can be particularly beneficial for properties with scenic surroundings.
  • Energy Efficiency: Modern sliding glass doors often come equipped with energy-saving features like double glazing, thermal breaks, and efficient sealing systems. These reduce heat transfer, helping in maintaining indoor temperature and cutting down on energy bills.
  • Security: With advancements in technology, many sliding patio doors now incorporate multi-point locking systems, ensuring better security against potential intruders.
  • Ease of Access: The wide opening of sliding patio doors makes it easier to move large items in and out, and their operation is generally easy and smooth.
  • Durability: Made with robust materials and designed for daily use, a sliding patio door can be very long-lasting, especially when properly maintained.
