More about the Glazed Internal Doors Collection

When you're looking to let light and energy flow through your home, installing an internal glazed door is a simple step to take.

Choosing a half-glazed door is an excellent way to draw sunlight through your home, without you having to resort to reconfiguring your home by moving walls.

Glazed Internal Doors in a Variety of Styles

If you are renovating your property and looking for a way to make each room feel lighter, brighter and bigger, choose an internal glazed door. We we have a huge selection to suit almost any room.

Choose from a number of different window designs depending on the room you are working on – from full-length panels that would look great in a dining room to much smaller panes that let in light but still offer comparatively good soundproofing and privacy. There is something for everyone. The frosted glass designs are ideal for studies, bathrooms, and other areas where privacy is an important consideration.

Frosted or Clear Glass

If you want to bring two rooms together, then a clear glass panel will give you complete visibility from one space into the next. It will allow maximum sunlight to shine through and will help build a sense of flow through your home.

If you’d rather maintain a sense of privacy between rooms, a frosted glass internal door will let the light slip through but will obscure the visibility between the rooms. This is great if you have a small room without much natural light flow but you don’t permanently want the space exposed. A dark ensuite or bathroom could benefit from frosted glass.

Toughened Glazing for Increased Safety

Our glazed doors are made with toughened glass for maximum safety. Toughened glass is treated at incredibly high temperatures to give it added strength and stability.

With a toughened safety glass panel there is no need for you to worry about the resilience or durability of your glazed door. It is just as safe and secure as a solid wood door is.

Glazed Fire Doors

We have a selection of glazed fire doors that are FD30 rated. This means they are able to withstand fire, flames and smoke for up to 30 minutes.

If you are fitting an internal glass door upstairs in a 3 or more storey property, or you have a loft conversion, then you may need to use an FD30 rated door. There are some other scenarios where fire doors may be required as well. If you are not sure what you need, we recommend that you speak to an expert.

Oak, Grey and White Glazed Internal Doors

Our oak glazed internal doors are easily the most popular in our range, but we have an extensive collection of other colours to choose from too.

Our walnut glazed doors are much loved by interior designers, while our white primed doors offer absolute versatility. One quick coat of paint and our white glazed internal doors will fit effortlessly into the most unusual or unique of design schemes.

If you’re looking for something a little more individual, with the convenience of a prefinished door, then we also stock fully finished oak veneer, chocolate grey and black internal glazed doors too.

Bifold, French and Single Leaf Doors

Installing a glass panel internal door is a great way to bring the flow of open living to your home.

If you really want to open your home up, many of our glazed interior doors work well in pairs, to make a set of French doors that will bring added freedom and flexibility to your space.

Questions about Glazed Internal Doors

What Does Glazed Mean in Doors?

Internal glazed doors have at least one panel of glass in their construction. This very broad term that covers a great range of styles and once you’ve decided you want internal glass doors, there are still plenty of choices left to make.

Can you get small internal doors with glass?

At Vivid, our glazed internal doors come in a full range of standard door sizes to suit a most openings.

The doors we stock are also constructed with a solid wood lipping. This means you can trim them down to fit a non-standard door frame.

If you’re looking for small or large glazed internal doors, and our standard stock selection does not carry the right dimensions, we may be able to offer glazed internal doors in bespoke sizes. However, the lead times on these will be longer than the shipping time of standard products.

Why are internal doors with glass a good idea?

There are a few reasons why internal doors with glazed panels can be a good idea:

  1. Allow light to pass through: If you have a room that doesn't have a lot of natural light, a glass panel in the door can help to brighten it up.
  2. Make a space feel more open: If you have an open-plan living area, a glass panel in an internal door can help to create a sense of continuity between different areas of the room.
  3. Create a sense of separation without completely closing off a space: For example, you might use glass in a door to divide a large living room into a separate reading area.
  4. Decorative: Glass panels can be used to add a decorative touch to a door, particularly if the it is made of a material that is not particularly attractive in its own right (such as MDF).
  5. Practical: Glass panels can be useful if you have pets or small children and want to keep an eye on them while they are playing in another room.
