Questions about Flush Fire Doors
Flush doors refer to a range of interior doors with plain facings on both panels – front and back. That means that your eyes will be drawn whether you are inside or outside of the room.
The internal flush doors you’ll find here are fire rated to FD30 and FD60, acting as an extra layer of protection in the event of a fire breaking out in your home, giving you and your loved extra essential time to get out of the building safely.
Not all flush doors are fire-rated, but all of the options you find here are. We stock flush fire doors with FD30 and FD60 ratings.
Doors with an FD30 fire door rating mean that they are fire-resistant for up to 30 minutes as a minimum. The FD60 rating means that they will keep smoke and fire at bay for up to 60 minutes as a minimum.
We recommend that you opt for fire doors along your exit route and in any rooms where a fire can break out, such as your kitchen.
While you can most likely use the terms interchangeably, there is a slight difference. A fire door is a method of separating compartments to hold back the spread of smoke and fire. A fire rated door is essentially a fire door that has been given a fire rating. The rating refers to how long the door will keep fire and smoke at bay as a minimum.
